Dear JES Parents/Guardians,
Effective Monday April 4th there will be some changes in school leadership at JES. Current JES principal, Zach Venable, has accepted a position with another district. A team of administrators, including myself, began searching for a replacement immediately following the submission of Mr. Venable’s resignation a couple months ago. I am happy to announce that Amanda Henry has been named JES principal. Mrs. Henry is currently the JJH Assistant Principal and was highly recommended by the administrative staff of that campus. She was the best applicant for the position and should prove to be a great fit for our needs. Current Assistant Principal, Mindi Cox, has accepted a behavior coordinator position in our district. Terrence Jimerson has been named JES Assistant Principal. Mr. Jimerson is a long time JISD employee and has exhibited the abilities necessary to suit him for this position. His primary responsibility will be student discipline.
Although this is not a typical time of year for this type of transition, we feel very strongly that it is the appropriate time to make this change and it should prove to be very beneficial for our students moving forward. JISD Assistant Superintendent, Michael Walker, JISD Curriculum Director, Lynn Phillips, Zach Venable, and instructional coach, Judy Grubbs will work closely with Mrs. Henry and Mr. Jimerson to ensure a smooth transition.
Our JES teachers are committed to our students and will continue to provide excellent instruction. I expect this transition to be smooth, and I look forward to positive results for our students.
