Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease

Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease is a common contagious childhood virus that is usually mild and resolves on its own within a week or two. Children must be fever free for 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medication, feel well enough to participate in class, and have no uncontrolled drooling with mouth sores in order to return to school. Talk with your child’s healthcare provider if you are not sure when it is okay for them to return. Call the school nurse or your family physician for any other questions or concerns.
